Well hello there. My name is Adam Grayson, and I am a 36-year-old technical artist. I am currently working at 343 Industries as a Technical Environment Artist for Halo 5: Guardians! I graduated from the University of Florida in December, 2010 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Media, and I graduated from the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA) in December 2013 with a Master of Science in Interactive Entertainment. Enough with the formalities, let's get to know each other, shall we?
Since before I can remember, digital equipment has been an integral part of my life. Before I really even understood what they were, I was using computers to play games. Once I started school, I attended an after school program nearly every day where they had a Nintendo Entertainment System for the kids to play with. I will forever be remembered by friends and family as the kid who jumped whenever Mario jumped. Needless to say, those countless hours upon hours of jumping with Mario, flying with Pit, and swiping with Link got me hooked on the whole video game business. What set my life in stone, however, was my seventh birthday when my parents gave me my very first video game system—a Super Nintendo. I can safely say that that was the only time in my life that I have ever been completely speechless.
Over the years, my obsession with video games has gone beyond just playing them. I've followed the industry, I've talked about them in school, I've written about them, I've made works based on or inspired by them, I've made a few games of my own, and I've worked professionally in the industry. But my interests don't stop there. I'm also very interested in computers, art, music, movies, animation, programming, modeling, sound—pretty much any kind of visual or aural media and everything that goes into making them. I model, I draw, I animate, I program, I play a variety of different musical instruments, I direct, I choreograph, I build, I illustrate, I write, and, of course, I game. If you want to know just one thing about me, know this: I'm always striving to get better and looking to learn more!
